Apple has officially opened enrollment for Apple Camp 2025, its annual free summer program designed for children and their families. The hands-on workshop returns to Apple Store locations worldwide, giving young participants the chance to learn filmmaking fundamentals while creating their own short “friendship films” entirely on iPad.
A Creative Summer Experience for Young Storytellers
Running from June 21 through July 31, this year’s Apple Camp features the theme “Direct Your Own Friendship Film.” During each 90-minute session, kids will work together in small groups to write, shoot, and edit their own mini movies using iMovie on iPad. The program encourages teamwork, imagination, and digital creativity while introducing children to the basics of modern storytelling.
In a change from previous years, Apple has expanded both the schedule and the age range for participants. The 2025 sessions now last five weeks—longer than before—and welcome children between the ages of 6 and 10, offering more families the chance to take part.
Learning Through Fun and Collaboration
Throughout the session, campers explore essential filmmaking techniques such as storyboarding, framing shots, adding sound, and applying simple effects. Apple’s instructors guide the children step-by-step, helping them bring their creative ideas to life. Each participant leaves the camp with a finished short film that can be shared with friends and family—a rewarding accomplishment that highlights collaboration and communication.
A Sustainable Touch
Every child who joins Apple Camp 2025 receives a commemorative t-shirt made entirely from recycled materials. The eco-friendly design reflects Apple’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, giving participants a meaningful keepsake from their experience.
How to Register
Families interested in attending can sign up through Apple’s Today at Apple website. While registration links will open soon, parents can already join a waiting list to receive notifications once spots become available. Given the popularity of previous sessions, early registration is recommended as spaces tend to fill quickly.
Now celebrating 25 years, Apple Camp remains a cornerstone of Apple’s educational outreach. By blending technology, storytelling, and environmental awareness, this year’s edition offers young creators an inspiring way to learn, play, and make lasting memories this summer.
