Apple has unveiled a significant update for Apple Music on Android, bringing it closer to its iOS 26 counterpart. The new version, 5.0, introduces a range of features including song pinning, lyric translations, and a revamped Replay Experience.
New Features for a Better Experience
One of the most notable additions is the automated lyric translation. This feature uses machine translation to display lyrics in the user’s chosen language. Apple has also added a pronunciation guide, which will be especially helpful for fans of international genres like K-Pop who want to better follow the lyrics.
Pinning and Replay Experience
Apple Music users can now “pin” their favorite songs, albums, artists, and playlists to the top of their library, making it easier to access them without endless scrolling. Additionally, the new Replay Experience offers monthly insights into users’ listening habits, helping them track their music preferences and rediscover songs throughout the year.
Small Visual Tweaks
While the update doesn’t bring every feature from iOS 26, Android users will notice subtle design changes. Some buttons now feature a rounded pill shape for a more modern aesthetic. However, the Liquid Glass interface found on iOS has not yet made its way to the Android version.
Gradual Update Rollout
After a beta testing phase, Apple Music 5.0 is now being rolled out more broadly through the Google Play Store. As with most app updates, the new version won’t be available to all users at once. With these improvements, Apple is aligning the Android and iOS experiences while still keeping a few iOS-exclusive features intact.
