iPhone 17 Rumors Hint at Bigger Display for the Standard Model

by admin

Apple may be preparing one of its most noticeable design shifts in years. According to recent leaks, the upcoming iPhone 17 could feature a 6.3-inch display—the same size as the iPhone 17 Pro. If accurate, this would mark the first time Apple’s standard and Pro models share identical screen dimensions.

Reports of the size increase first surfaced earlier this year from display analyst Ross Young, and more recently, the claim was echoed by popular leaker Digital Chat Station on Chinese social media. Both suggest the base iPhone will jump from its current 6.1-inch screen to 6.3 inches, narrowing the gap between the two tiers.

Adding fuel to the speculation, accessory maker Spigen was spotted with a leaked listing for a screen protector advertised as fitting both the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro. While such accessory leaks often rely on predictions, they occasionally align with Apple’s final designs.

Apple has released phones with matching displays before, such as the iPhone 15 and 15 Pro, but more often the Pro model has offered slightly larger screens along with extra premium features. If this rumor holds, screen size would no longer be a key differentiator, shifting buyers’ attention to areas like performance, battery life, and camera quality.

As with most leaks, caution is warranted. Digital Chat Station has a mixed track record, and nothing is confirmed until Apple makes it official. Still, with multiple sources pointing in the same direction, the possibility of a larger display on the base iPhone feels stronger than ever.
